Old treasures forever new: The collection after reopening

Careful architectural modification now enables the collection to be displayed once more in its authentic surroundings. Financial and logistical constraints have caused many private collections to be incorporated into public museums, so art lovers today rarely have an opportunity to view art in a semi-private, domestic context.

During the refurbishment of 2009-10 only part of the holdings were accessible to the public, in the exhibition Im Dialog: Die zwei Sammlungen Oskar Reinhart (A dialogue: Oskar Reinhart's two collections). It is now time to focus again on the collection as a whole. In the new presentation the individual masterworks appear in the context of a balanced and stimulating visual interaction that harbours great potential for unexpected discoveries.
