The Federal Office of Culture presents the highlights of its museums and collections. the Oskar Reinhart Online Collection ‘Am Römerholz’
The former villa of art collector Oskar Reinhart (1885–1965) in Winterthur houses over two hundred paintings, drawings, and sculptures of European art of exceptional quality.
The collection centers on 19th-century French painting, particularly on works by the Impressionists and their immediate predecessors. It includes masterpieces by Eugène Delacroix, Camille Corot, Claude Monet, Edouard Manet, and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. This selection is complemented by important works of the Old Masters, such as Lucas Cranach the Elder and Pieter Bruegel the Elder. Gustave Courbet, Honoré Daumier, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, and Vincent van Gogh are represented by significant groups of works.
