The 2009-2010 refurbishment

In 2009 the Swiss Confederation commissioned a team of planners headed by P&B Partner Architekten, Winterthur, to carry out further refurbishment. An important feature this time was the construction of a new shelter for movable cultural property; but this second set of measures also facilitated major improvements in the museum's technology and education services, its gastronomic infrastructure and overall organisation. All interventions respected the existing architectural ensemble.

Oskar Reinhart's collection is now preserved and displayed in his private residence in accordance with the latest conservation and security requirements. The refurbished museum also offers a wider range of learning provisions and the café provides a larger selection food and drink. The Oskar Reinhart Collection ʻAm Römerholz̕  has been made an even more attractive place for people of all ages and varying interests.
